Step-by-Step Instructions for Use
- Fully Charge the Battery: Ensure the battery you want to test is charged to 100% capacity before starting.
- Connect the Load Resistors: Wire the included ceramic power resistors to the R terminals on the module. These draw the current and will get extremely hot during operation.
- Connect the Battery: Secure the battery to the positive (+) and negative (-) input terminals. Double-check the polarity; reversing it will destroy the circuit board.
- Power the Tester: Plug a standard Micro-USB cable into the tester from a dedicated USB power brick. Do not power it from a computer USB port to avoid potential ground loops or damage. The LED screen will display the current battery voltage.
- Set the Cut-Off Voltage: Press the + or – buttons to adjust the minimum voltage where the test should stop. For example, set a standard 18650 Li-ion battery to 3.0V or 2.8V.
- Start the Test: Press the OK button. The module will begin discharging the battery, flashing the LED display sequentially to show:Ah / mAh: Accumulated discharged capacity. A: Real-time current draw. V: Live battery voltage under load.
- Read the Final Result: Once the battery reaches your preset cut-off voltage, the module stops the discharge process. The display will stop changing and rapidly flash the final capacity reading (Ah). Press OK once to clear the blinking and view the static result.
